The focus of the Clinical and Medical Services of the Emory Autism Center is comprehensive assessment in order to provide recommendations for optimal treatment. State of the art comprehensive diagnostic evaluations may include the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule or the Autism Diagnostic Interview.

The Medical Service offers consultation for medication treatment. Thorough assessment of the presenting symptoms and behavior is performed to determine whether a medication approach is appropriate, and which medication might provide most benefit. Medication safety and efficacy are emphasized while integrating the most current scientific information applicable to each individual.
