Lectures
These lectures explore the important issue of depression in patients with medical illness from the perspective of western and traditional Tibetan Buddhist medical systems. Although very different in their assumptions and therapeutic interventions, both traditions share a strong commitment to understanding depression in medically ill patients as a phenomenon with mental, spiritual and physical causes and consequences. Dr. Raison is an Assistant Professor in the Mind-Body Program, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Co-Director of the Emory Collaborative for Contemplative Studies. Dr. Pema Dorje serves as physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and is one of the world’s most respected Tibetan physicians. Please be patient. Links are large and may take time to load.
