Giuseppe Pagnoni, Ph.D. |
Dr. Pagnoni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University. Originally trained as a physicist, he completed a Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 1998, and has worked since then in human neuroimaging using functional magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography. He currently collaborates as an investigator to a number projects, including the interaction of immune function with cognitive processing and mood; the role of the basal ganglia in probabilistic coding of events and decision making; the neural substrates for social interaction in humans and primates; and the use of motor imagery in functional rehabilitation from stroke. Dr. Pagnoni also has a special interest in the impact of meditation on attentional processing as well as volumetric changes in specific brain regions. He is author of 18 peer-reviewed papers and two book chapters. |
