missa Michael Issa, B.S.

Michael was born in Washington D.C. before moving to Geneva, Switzerland at 8 months old. At seven years of age, he moved to Atlanta, GA and resided there until his acceptance at the University of Michigan. Three years later he graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a minor in Environmental Studies and Arabic. After graduation, Michael received a Fulbright Grant to study biological anthropology and religion in Damascus, Syria for one year. Upon completion of the Fulbright, he pursued his passion in ecology and studied tropical fish communities in the rainforest of Belize for 6 months as a Field Supervisor. He is now the Senior Research Coordinator for a study on Compassion Meditation conducted by Dr. Raison. His goal for the near future is to enter an M.D./Ph.D program in the field of Neuroscience and Human Behavior.
