Biography
S. Carolyn Acker, MD, is an outpatient psychiatrist and medical director of the General Psychiatry Practice at The Emory Clinic. This is the department’s largest adult outpatient clinic serving patients 18 to 60 years old, with an emphasis on mood and anxiety disorders.
Dr. Acker is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine and did her residency at Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program. She recently completed the two-year psychodynamic training program of the Emory University Psychoanalytic Institute.
