The Service Portfolio is a new and very key component of an appointment/promotions packet. Therefore, on Wednesday May 2, 2012 from 9-10:30am, there will be a presentation on Service Portfolios. Presenters will include Nadine Kaslow, Arden Dingle, and Ann Schwartz.

Rob Cotes received the persistence and performance award from the Grady administration for his work in decreasing seclusions and restraints.

Quality and Safety Initiatives

We remain at 100 percent for our HBIPS measures (Hospital Based Inpatient Psychiatric Services).

We are now under two additional inpatient core measures : Flu and pneumococcal vaccinations.

Development Achievement and Capital Campaign Initiatives

Grady received the first of four checks from the Fitzgerald Foundation on a one million dollar grant to start the planning for a Med Psych Unit.

The Fuqua Foundation also got a grant to provide psychiatric coverage in low cost housing for seniors. 

Community Benefit Programs and Activities

On February 23, 2012, Marietta Collins will be the keynote speaker for the Nell Hodgson School of Nursing Black history event and her presentation is on racial history. She also spoke to the Student National Medical Association on Emory University School of Medicine’s Racial History.

Arshya Vahabzadeh has been awarded an American Psychiatric Association/American Psychiatric Leadership Fellowship for 2012-2014. The fellowship is designed to prepare future leaders in psychiatry. He also was awarded 2nd prize in the Joe and Hope Skobba Poster Presentation Competition of the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association.
