Ayman Fareed, MD is the director of the Substance Abuse Outpatient Evaluation, Stabilization and Placement Program at Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC). He is also on the faculty of Emory University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the rank of Assistant Professor. Dr. Fareed is a national mentor for buprenorphine treatment, a program funded by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA). Dr Fareed is Board Certified in Addiction psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and Certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr Fareed has several publications focused on the area of health promotion and treatment outcome for opioid agonist therapy.
