Grady Child Attendings:

Arden Dingle, M.D., Coordinator
Shannon Croft, M.D.
John Griffin, M.D.
Bryan Price, M.D., Chief Resident

The Work Setting:

During this rotation, the medical student will work in two types of child psychiatric outpatient clinics. Four afternoons a week will be spent on a team in a general clinic with the opportunity to participate on the consultation liaison team if appropriate and one afternoon will be in a specialty autism clinic. For consistency the medical student will work with 2 attendings, Drs. Croft and Griffin.

Attendings Expectations Of the Students:

These afternoons will be spent participating in supervision, evaluations, and ongoing treatment in conjunction with the faculty and residents with the expectation that as the rotation progresses, the medical student will take on an increasing level of clinical responsibility. By the end of the rotation, the student will be able to take an active role in the evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and families and in documenting their work.

Note: Students signing up for the Child and Adolescent experience will be placed with Dr. Adolf Casal at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta/Egleston when he is not working with a student completing an M-4 Elective in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
