The
Work Setting:
During
this rotation, the medical student will work in two types of child
psychiatric outpatient clinics. Four afternoons a week will be spent
on a team in a general clinic with the opportunity to participate
on the consultation liaison team if appropriate and one afternoon
will be in a specialty autism clinic. For consistency the medical
student will work with 2 attendings, Drs. Croft and Griffin.

Expectations Of the Students:
These
afternoons will be spent participating in supervision, evaluations,
and ongoing treatment in conjunction with the faculty and residents
with the expectation that as the rotation progresses, the medical
student will take on an increasing level of clinical responsibility.
By the end of the rotation, the student will be able to take an active
role in the evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and families
and in documenting their work.
Note:
Students signing up for the Child and Adolescent experience will be
placed with Dr. Adolf Casal at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta/Egleston
when he is not working with a student completing an M-4 Elective in
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
