Emory University Hospital Midtown

This is a large general hospital solely owned by Emory Healthcare which contains 583 beds. It has both Emory and non-Emory attending physicians. There are no inpatient psychiatry beds. The Department of Psychiatry at Crawford Long is under the Directorship of Scott Firestone, MD. The expanded Consultation-Liaison Services at CLH began in August 1994. On average, this service has delivered approximately 350 new patient visits per year and an additional 700 follow-up visits per year.

Educational services provided include Emory medical student electives (6/year), visiting medical student electives (4/year), senior psychiatry resident electives (2/year) and a PGY-II Family Practice resident rotation (4/year). Dr. Firestone has also provided educational support to the CLH Medical Staff and Emergency Room.
